Late Model Sportsman Rules

 

Two laps of qualifying and will run a 25 laps Feature. 20 car field (B feature if needed will be 10 laps)

SEAT BELTS: Must be within 3 years of 2008 date.

 

BLOCK: OEM steel block, or aftermarket steel block, all components must remain in stock location.  (No raised or oversized cam journals)(No oversized lifters) - 362 cubic inch max.

 

HEADS: Stock OEM heads no porting, polishing, grinding, or excessive deburring in any breathing area.  No shot peening or acid porting allowed.  Heads may be deburred on outside areas only.  Intake must be cast aluminum.  Any aftermarket intakes are allowed. Valve spring pockets may be machined.  May have competition valve job, any angle any depth, all angles must remain concentric with valve guide.  May be machined for push rod clearance.  May be flat or angle milled.  Vortech heads are also allowed.  Maximum 2” carburetor spacer is allowed. After market heads Dart, World Pro-Action, Bowtie, SVO, Mopar performance, or any other brand.  Chevy heads must be 23 degree standard runner/ Ford 10 degree / Dodge 18 degree.   No raised runner heads.  Single plane intakes are allowed.  Stud mount roller rocker arm allowed.  No shaft-type rocker system allowed.  Stud girdles OK.

 

CARBURETOR: Any 1 four barrel permitted. GAS ONLY

 

CRANK: Any steel crank 49.5 lbs minimum weight...

 

RODS: NO titanium or aluminum rods.

 

PISTONS: Any flat top pistons and pins. Cannot come out of block.

 

CAM: Flat Tappet LIFTERS: NO roller, mushroom or ceramic. OEM diameter only.

            Chevy .842, -Ford .875, & Chry .903.

 

 VAVLE: Cherolet350 2.02, 1.600.  Chrysler 360, 2.02, 1.600.  Ford 302, 2.02, 1.600. Ford 351c Maximum size 2.19, 1.70.

 

IGNITION: Any point or electronic ignition. (No traction control)

                     (Electronic boxes may be bought for $300. Race track has right to buy also)

 

TIRES: Rear  (must durometer 60)

 

BODY:  Lucas body rules / Ump Body rules

 

WEIGHT: 2400 lbs. (sealed crate motor 602 2100 lbs) (604 2200 lbs.)

                              (Crate 12” spoiler & braces)

                  DRY SUMP ADD 100 lbs   ROLLER CAM ADD 75 lbs

 

Protest:     $500 to pull one Cylinder head------------Track Keeps $150/Protester must also tear down first

                        $500 to pull bottom end---------------------Track Keeps $150/Protester must also tear down first

                        $200 to pull oil pan for visual -------------Track Keeps $100/Protester must also visual first

                        $100 to pull valve cover visual-------------Track Keeps $50/Protester must also visual first

                        $150 to pull intake for visual-------------- Track Keeps $75/Protester must also visual first

All clams must be filed with track personal on the front straight immediately following race. 

Race track has the right to give a racer one night to fix any problem with his or her car. Also, has right to change rules to make racing a better sport and more competitive.
