Delaney Overpowers Field

Crossville, TN (April 20th 2013) -   In Late Model action it was Sparta’s #77 Perry Delaney setting
fast time with a lap of 13.32. In the heats Delaney won the first and #23 Layne Clifton was second
with #44 Keith Gregory in third. The second heat saw #5M Scott Shelton take the win over #4X
Joe Cline and #13 Jim Bolen.

The 25-lap feature started with Delaney powering into the lead with Shelton, Cline, Clifton, and
Gregory in pursuit. On lap 8 #5c Troy Davenport made his move into the sixth position. Delaney
extended his lead, a lead that he would not give up as he went on to capture his first win of the
year. Shelton was second, Gregory third, #215 Ricky Tinch was fourth, and Clifton rounded out
the top five. Finishing sixth through tenth was #5C Troy Davenport, #8 Trent Mullinax, #20 Mike
Selby, Cline, and Bolen was tenth.

In the Pro Hornet/ Hornet class #L92 Lukas Presley picked up his second win of the year, as he
held off a determined #46 Cody Rector. #57 Stephen Conley finished third, #5 Michael Conley was
right on his bumper for fourth, and rounding out the top five was #15 Adam Stone.

The Dwarf class saw #65 Joseph Underwood take the lead followed by #7 Shawn Thomas, #0
Todd Spivey, #22 Dwayne Allen, and #47 Dave Jurist. Underwood would hold his lead through
the three cautions in the 20-lap feature. Underwood would pick up his third win of the season. #13
Ty Bowman was second, #22 Jonathan Allen third, Jurist finished fourth, and Thomas rounded
out the field.

In the Jr. Hornet division #17 Carlie Mullinax powered into the lead followed by #25JR Colten
Akins and #5K Kealey Lowe. On lap 9 she would lose her lead when there was a malfunction with
her car. On the restart Akins would grab the lead followed closely by Lowe. Akins would continue
to hold onto the lead until the final lap when at the last moment Lowe powered by him to grab the
lead and win the race. Her second win of the season. Akins finished a close second, #77 Makenzi
Delaney was third, and #L94 Lukas Presley fourth.
